Punjab Vigilance Bureau today nabbed a Municipal Council Giddarbaha's Engineer/SDO, two JEs and Clerk with bribe money of Rs.60,000.
Vigilance Bureau Spokesperson said that the arrest was made on the complaint of Mr. Ranjit Singh, Contractor, Ms. Green Earth, Builders, Parasram Nagar, Bathinda. In his complaint the contractor said that he possessed a contract of worth Rs.90 lakh for laying pavers in the streets under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Council Giddarbaha and the works of worth Rs.30 lakh has already been completed. He alleged that he has been giving 13 per cent commission to the Municipal Engineer/SDO Parlad, JE Navdeep kumar, JE Gaurav Dhir and Clerk karan Kumar for passing the bills for payment. He alleged that now these accused were demanding 15 per cent commission for passing the bills.
A trap was laid and the office of with the Municipal Council Giddarbaha was raided by a team of Vigilance Bureau. All these accused were present together in the office. During the raid, bribe money of Rs.60,000 were recovered from the accused.
