Four members of a family, including 15-year-old daughter, were found dead at their residence, in I-block of Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, Ludhiana, on Friday.
Bachan Kaur (70), her son Sandeep Singh (55), daughter-in-law Amandeep Kaur (45) and granddaughter Dilnaj Kaur(15) were found dead with bullet injuries, police said.
The police also found bullet shells from the spot and initial details suggested that all of them have been murdered. However, the new reports coming out suggest that Sandeep first killed his wife, then his mother and daughter before taking his own life.
The incident came to light after their domestic help entered home around 10.30 am and was shocked to see the body of Bachan Kaur out in the lobby. The other three bodies were found inside the home.
A 315 bore weapon found near the bodies is thought to be the weapon used by Sandeep to first kill his family and then commit suicide.
It is being said that Sandeep was under depression for a long time due to a property dispute.
Ludhiana police commissioner J S Aulakh and Deputy Commissioner of Police Dhruman Nimbale are on the spot.
