Former Deputy Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha and Ex-MLA Bir Devinder Singh has been expelled from Congress party for six long years.
An office order to this effect was issued by Capt. Amarinder Singh, President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee on Friday.
The office order addressed to Bir Devinder Singh says that "You were suspended from the primary membership of the party on 31.03.2016. A notice to this effect was mail to you....A three member committee headed by Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, MLA was constituted and you were asked to file your reply to the committee latest by 7th of April, 2016."
Order further says "You have not filed any reply or have chosen to appear in front of the committee till date to explain your position of having indulged in anti party activities.......The committee has unanimously recommended that in view of the gross indiscipline, you should be expelled from the party"
