There are not enough roles for senior actors on TV: Kushal Punjabi

While most of his contemporaries are grappling with the fact that opportunities for senior actors are slimming down on television, Kushal Punjabi who is seen playing the role of Shivji in Star Bharat’s popular show Kya Haal Mr. Paanchal is rather positive about the changing scenario.

The actor, who has returned to TV says, "I know that the roles for seasoned actors aren't as good as before. In fact, there are not enough roles for senior actors. However, it's a logical progression for young artistes to take charge as viewers want to watch fresh faces and the production houses and channels are complying with their demand.

Unlike Bollywood, you can't show a 45-year-old play a college student on TV. Also, young artistes are roped in on a much lower budget. The best way to stay in the reckoning is by staying fit; I have been following that mantra religiously and that's the reason why even at my age, nobody offers me the role of a father."

Shah Rukh Khan to star in 'Dhoom 4'

After John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan, the buzz was strong that superstar Salman Khan will be seen in Yash Raj Films' glamourous actioner 'Dhoom' franchise.

After Aamir Khan in Dhoom 3, it had to be either SRK or Salman to maintain the star power of the series. Since Salman is already doing another action franchise — Race 3, SRK is the perfect choice.

According to BollywoodLife.com, SRK is a pro in playing grey shades with conviction on-screen, and in 'Dhoom' franchise the protagonist is essentially a baddie, so we might see him in top form once again.

On speaking about the director of the movie, a source said: "Adi wants to take 'Dhoom 4' to the next level and he’s asked Maneesh Sharma to write the film. He’s currently scripting it. For those in the know, Vijay Krishna Acharya aka Victor (director of Dhoom 3) is now busy with ‘Thugs of Hindostan’. So the film will change hands again. Maneesh will probably direct it as well,” Bollywood Life reported.

Shah Rukh and Maneesh previously worked together in 'FAN' which tanked at the Box Office. "Although Fan didn’t work at the box office, SRK and Maneesh have discussed about working together again. Nothing is on paper as of now, but for SRK, all that isn’t required when it’s a YRF film. Only a call from Adi is enough”, a source told BollywoodLife.com.

Nothing has been officially announced either by the makers or by the actor.

SRK’s last movie on the silver screen was Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ opposite Anushka Sharma that didn’t work as well it hoped on the box office.
