Amitabh Bachchan's 'Pink' to be screened at the UN on special invitation

To say that Shoojit Sircar’s Pink is one of the most ground-breaking films of the year 2016 would be an understatement. Not only did it win the hearts of the audience but it also managed to stir some very important debates around feminism and women empowerment.

Amitabh Bachchan evoked goosebumps in the audience in Aniruddha Roy Chaudhary's Pink earlier this year, whether it was narrating an awe-inspiring poem during the end credits or while delivering the popular `NO means NO' dialogue sequence towards the end of the film.

It evoked the right sentiment amongst the youth and proved to be so powerful that it was used as a platform to promote the Zero FIR law and to sensitise police forces towards women.

The film was widely appreciated, by the audience and the critics alike. Now, it finds itself at the end of a special honour. Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations has extended a special invitation to the makers of Pink asking them to screen the film at the UN Headquarters in New York.

The 73-year-old actor, who plays a lawyer in the film, took to Twitter to make the announcement. "PINK invited for a special screening of the film at UN Head Quarters, in New York .. by Assistant Secretary General .. honoured,” Bachchan posted.

Pink also starred Taapsee Pannu, Andrea Tariang and Kirti Kulhari in lead roles. It released on September 16.

Rakesh Roshan is addicted to Social Media!

Film maker Rakesh Roshan known for his blockbusters like Karan Arjun, Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, Koi Mil Gaya and the Krrish franchise(naming just a few)  was recently introduced to the world of social media with his latest home production Kaabil that is scheduled for release on January 26, 2017.

Roshan Senior made his presence felt on social media platforms just days before the teaser of Kaabil broke and by the time the trailer released on October 26, he was already a twitter addict.  Yes you read that correct!

Says the filmmaker, "My God Twitter is addictive. I have now been on it for around two weeks but I am already obsessing over it.  Besides regular tweets, I am learning little tricks of the social media platform.  I'm constantly checking my phone for updates. The other day, my wife Pinkie was annoyed with me and said--'What's this? You are constantly glued to your phone!' '' he laughs.

However his superstar son Hrithik Roshan who is hugely popular on all social media platforms is very happy that his father has finally made his own presence felt on Twitter.
