‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ worldwide collection: Film crosses Rs 500 crore

S.S. Rajamouli's magnum opus 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' has made waves worldwide with its bumper opening and massive weekend collections. The multi-lingual film that stars Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, amassed a whopping Rs 520 crore worldwide (cumulative figure of all languages) over the opening weekend, according to a report on BoxofficeIndia.com.
Made on a combined budget of Rs 430 crore, SS Rajamouli's Baahubali - including Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion - is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made second only to Shankar's upcoming 2.0. As such, to be declared a hit, both the parts together would need to make more than at least double the cost of making the films.

Baahubali: The Beginning made a worldwide box-office earning of Rs 650 crore. Baahubali: The Conclusion, on the other hand, is making a killing at a much, much faster pace than its predecessor. According to latest figures provided by Karan Johar (distributor of the Hindi version of the Baahubali films), the film earned Rs 303 crore (net) in just three days, that too in India alone!
While the collections in India read Rs 385 crore (gross) over the weekend, it minted Rs 121 crore overseas. The business in US and Canada, Gulf and Australia has reportedly smashed all records. Not just that, if we include the collections of the previews, then the worldwide collection goes up to Rs 520 crore.

Here is a look at how Baahubali 2: The Conclusion's collections on the opening weekend in India have beaten those of all other Indian films to date.
Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan and Tamannaah, Baahubali: The Conclusion begins exactly where the first film ended. The Beginning ended at a cliffhanger moment where the loyal-to-a-fault Katappa was seen killing the beloved Baahubali. Soon enough, the unanswered question "Why Katappa killed Baahubali?" began raging through the Baahubali fandom. In the next two years between the release of the two Baahubali films, this question became a nationwide phenomenon.
The film has struck gold in US soil as well. Baahubali opened as the no.3 film in the US box office earning a mammoth Rs 65.65 crore in its opening weekend leaving behind the Tom Hanks and Emma Watson-starrer The Circle in the box-office race. This makes Baahubali: The Conclusion the highest grossing Indian film ever in the US.
Meanwhile, the Hindi version of Baahubali has already beaten Sultan and Dangal and has emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi film in an opening weekend. While Sultan made Rs 105.53 crore in its first three days, Dangal made Rs 107.01 crore and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has made Rs 128 crore.
